Knight's Folly

Knight's Folly is a simple game about fighting with swords. The catch with it is that the process of development is much deeper than that.

What Is Special About It:

You see ever since I was a wee little boy I was never good enough for my mother.  She always saw me as a disappointment. I was never good enough at anything for her. I wasn't a good artist, singer, actor, or even writer. I was only smart and I couldn't do anything artistic for my parents to even have a smidgen on faith in me. Not even in the slightest. Why wasn't I good enough mama? Why? Was it because I wasn't a basketball player like Hector? Or a reputable citizen like Vanessa? No mom you had to treat me like a Veronica and you made me a grugma male. Well now I channeled that grugma male energy into a game of perfection and anger issues. Play as a downtrodden Ronin, a usurper to the throne of Nupras, or my father who is depicted in the game as an "alpha"...  Beat him in a game of good ol clubbin time and show my dad who's boss! Because I was never good enough for you father! Not you or mama! And now you have me channeling all my grugma male energy into a game that no one is ever gonna see! No matter what I do I can't stop feeling this internalized hatred for myself on account of YOUR disappointment! 

What Is There To Do:

Knight's folly doesn't do much as a game except provide enjoyment for enough time for you to forget about your parent's disappointment. This is exactly what I specifically designed the game as a strategy based sword fighting game. You can parry your opponent and learn the attack patterns that they employ. Precisely strike an opponent on their body part to deal extra damage.  The mechanics of the game help you build hand eye coordination perhaps for the future so that you can actually learn how to do something worthwhile that your parents may see a sliver of hope in you for. 

Requirements: 

I had my friend Ninian playtest this game and his pc is a literal potato. Don't worry about specs. However I am a lazy fatass who doesn't put work into his projects, so unfortunately as a result I designed this game to be only usable with a mouse and keyboard. No controller support. Sorry Playsystem. 

I really do hope that you can find enjoyment with this game unlike me during the process of developing it. It took many moons to make and I have distanced myself from my family in order to simple scrape by while making it. Not that I didn't want to....
